This is a drawing of the Overlord, the main charter of the like wise titled video game. It happened to be on my desk when I started drawing. I really don't have too much more to say about why I drew it. I can, however, recommend the game. It's awfully fun.

This drawing was done with my Wacom Bamboo Pen straight into Adobe Flash and then into Adobe Photoshop for coloring. I hope you like it.

  1. Rick,

This is the scene I was telling you about.

“Attachment leads to Jealousy, the Shadow of Greed that is. Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose. The fear of loss is a path to the Dark Side.”

Attachment doesn’t work--not for living, and not for the Artist. The Artist’s job is to serve their Art and their Muses, and then let go. Creating Art is like creating Life. And like any living being, our Artwork needs our full attention. We need to fully surrender to whatever Disciplines are needed for us to best serve our Art, and let go of all distractions. Completely let go. To do anything else would be like giving birth to a child with immediate expectations to groom him for the Presidency. The kid might live up to those expectations, but at what cost to him, his parents, and their souls.”

  2. Also here’s that part from Stephen King’s On Writing book:

“Writing isn’t about making money, getting famous, getting dates, getting laid, or making friends. In the end, it’s about enriching the lives of those who will read your work, and enriching your own life, as well. It’s about getting up, getting well, and getting over. Getting happy, okay? Getting happy. This book is a permission slip: you can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will. Writing is magic, as much as the water of life as any other creative art. The water is free. So drink. Drink and be filled up.”

Anything else is Mad Ego Doctor Bullshit propaganda.
